Voice K Editing Sessions

An editing session is where all kids will sit together in one room and get their works edited by an editor. The editor will go through each sentence and paragraph, pointing out what's wrong and what's right with the article.  All kids will learn from each other's mistakes to further improve their writing.

Available Sessions:

Sessions for Voice K Trip Group (Continue working on trip articles)
Sessions for Voice K Journalists (On-going projects)
Sessions for Non-journalists (Grade 1- 5 and Grade 6 -8)

FAQs for Voice K Journalists

What will we be editing?
We will be editing the articles you and other journalists has submitted.

What do I need to do to prepare?
You can submit the most recent copy of your article before the session.

What's the fee structure?

It is pay-what-you-can with a suggested contribution of $10

Is this mandatory for all journalists?
No, it is not mandatory, however strongly recommended for all journalists.

How does this help with my writing?
Nothing is better for you to remember than learning from the job. By getting your own work edited in detail, you remember your mistakes better. By looking at other people's edits, you have learned to not make the same mistakes they did and learn from the well-written passages.

Are parents allowed in the session?
Yes, different from all other classes, the editing session actually allows parents to watch (not commenting). Many parents tell us that their kids writing needs to be improved, but don't know how. The editing sessions will help you to know exactly which part of your kid's writing need improvement.
