My Wonderful World By Farida Radwan (Age 9)
I woke up in an unknown place. My mind went blank. I couldn’t remember how I ended up here. I was in a dark and cold place. It had big trees and dirty wet grass. The trees were dead and dreary. The leaves were so dry and crumbly that when I stepped on them, my feet were radiating in pain. I was so cold and hungry.
My parents left me here alone on September 11th 1957. We were so poor and we did not have enough money to feed ourselves. They decided that they would try their luck in a new country, but they abandoned me in London. After 3 days of war with the Germans, a huge tornado came and obviated our city in London. I ended up in a forest, on the Other Side.
I learned how to walk on my own when I was about one year old. The other Side was so beautiful and all of the townspeople were generous. I would wake up by the sound of my blue jay bird. I slept in the forest, where I grew accustomed to living there. It became like my little home which I made out of wood out of my imagination. When I turned 2 years old, I went around the neighbourhood working place to place saying
good morning to people and being as cheerful as possible. To each store I went to, the store owners would say: “Hello there, Amanda! I have something new for you!” and they would give me something. First, I stopped by the clothes store.
The lady said: “Hello Amanda, I’ve got two new outfits for you! One is this pretty little green shirt with the little yellow skirt. The second one is these nice pair of white pants and this beautiful plain red shirt”. Then I stopped by the baker and he gave me some bread and cakes. Next, the butcher gave me a turkey sandwich.
On my 7th birthday, everyone gathered and gave me the best birth- day in my whole life. Though these people are just my neighbours, they act more like a family to me. I lived a beautiful life! Until one day, when I turned 12, I decided I wanted to travel more and discover the world. I ended up in a huge castle and decided that I would go and greet them. So, I knocked on the big door. When I entered the castle, I blacked out.
When I woke up, I was in the forest again. I have forgotten who I was, and why I was here. I was hungry, lonely, scared and sad. I missed my parents.

The Unicorn Tear by William Yang (Age 12)
I woke up in an unknown place, my mind went blank. I don’t remember how I got here. I walked around not knowing what to do. And then the most unbelievable thing happened. I saw a crying unicorn. One unicorn tear can grant a million wishes. If I could have my hands on one unicorn tear, I could have everything I could ever want.
I spent a few minutes making a plan. I would get a cup and try to catch the tear but there was one problem: only one unicorn tear come out every hour so I had to be accurate, quick and agile. I spent a few days waiting for the exact moment to strike. When that moment finally came, I ran as fast as I had ever ran in my life. Everything around me slowed down, I saw the tear slowly dropping. Finally, I caught the tear. I quickly drank the unicorn tear.
Now my life was complete since I had a million wishes that I could never finish using because I could just wish for another unicorn tear. My first wish was to go home. When I got home, I began writing a book about how I got the unicorn tear. No one would believe me because I didn’t wish for a million dollars, but I knew I could. I spent my wishes helping the less fortunate and saving the planet. Not long after this, I had found the cure for cancer, ended world hunger, found alien life and found a way to go to another planet just like Earth in another galaxy. I decided to use the other planet as a backup plan in case Earth got destroyed. I lived the life of my dream and lived happily ever after.

I Was Once a Warrior By Leo Yin (Age 10)
I woke-up in an unknown place. My mind went blank. I couldn’t remember how I ended up here. I saw a door with no door knob. I tried to push it open, then I tried to bash it open. Next, I realized the door was made of stone and my arm started to hurt.
I walked around the room trying to fi nd something that would help me. Then, I saw a big, wooden box. I opened it and there laid 4 items in it. There was one rope with grappling hook, one sword, one shield and one suit of armor. I grabbed all of them. I put on the suit of armor. Next, I grabbed the shield and sword. When I saw that there was a hole on the roof, I have found my way out. I put the rope around my waist for security. I threw the grappling hook onto the roof through hole. However, just as I was ready to climb up, I saw a pair of purple eyes.
Fascinated by the strange eyes, I stepped closer towards them. A flame came out of the eyes, and I got burned. Then, the purple eyes fl oated away and I chased after them. I could not catch them.
Later on, I heard some heavy foot- steps coming towards me. I turned around and shouted “WHO ARE YOU?!” But all I heard was an array of strange sounds, “uhhh...psit... ... ...nuunu...fcccht...”. Then I got pushed down a dark void and fell asleep. When I woke up again, I found my- self in a small cave with a lake be- side me. Then I realized that I had drowned and become a ghost. I kept trying to get out of the cave by climbing the rocky wall, but it was useless. So, here I am waiting and hoping for someone to find me.

My Hornourable End by Yuki Kwan (Age 14)
I woke up in an unknown place. My mind went blank. I could not remember how I ended up here.
There wasn’t anything I could do, so I went to look around. There was a nightstand, which was beside the bed where I woke up. There was a small bathroom with a shower. There weren’t any windows. I noticed there was some bread and water on the nightstand. I was very hungry, so I ate it without even thinking it could be poisoned. As I went to grab a piece of bread, I suddenly felt a jolt of pain in my head. I held onto the edge of the bed as my knees be- came weak and I was wrapped in darkness.
“Hey! Wake up! Helloo?” I opened my eyes and I almost thought I was dreaming.
“Claire, I thought you were dead!” I was so happy to see my best friend that I went to hug her, but I just passed through her body.
“I am dead, I’m just a ghost now.” “Huh? Then why can I see you?” “Well, I don’t know. But anyway, you need to get out of here and escape. There are some stairs under your bed.”
I did as she said and pushed the bed away. There was indeed a passage leading to the floor below. But suddenly, the door opened and a guy in a grey suit appeared. “Eat your food.” That was all he said before leaving the room.
I followed Claire, and we managed to get to the first floor. She direct- ed me through the building and we managed to get to the back door. As I was about to make it over the fence, I heard a gunshot. I felt pain in my chest looked at Claire, who was smiling evilly.
“Claire, why?” “Why? Revenge. You pushed me off that cliff on purpose!”
I wanted to say that it wasn’t me who killed but her, but her stepdad. However, I couldn’t tell her, the truth would hurt her. As my silky blonde hair became drenched with blood from another shot, this time to my head, I only thought of one thing: “I’m sorry, Claire.”
That was how I died, shot and betrayed by the very friend I trusted. Now, I’ll finally be able to meet my parents, who were also killed by the people they trusted.
