At the heart of Voice K, is a desire for constant growth and development, with each little journalist and/or author improving his or her craft (whatever it might be, e.g. writing, reporting, reading, etc.) whilst simultaneously providing a valuable resource for kids of all ages and from all over the GTA to read and learn from.
There is nothing quite like seeing your name in print, and all that hard-work and energy amount to something so worthwhile. It can be an exhilarating experience; one that we hope to share with more bright and talented young reporters and writers.
Voice K aims to become an even larger platform for kids, showcasing their unique, informative and often quite humorous voices more effectively through a larger media outlet. We hope to expand our reach whilst continuing to provide a diverse, social learning experience for everyone involved in new and more exciting ways.
We've given our journalists the chance to see their name in print, now we want to focus on capturing their little faces on screen, behind the camera, starting with a series of online episodes, conducting interviews and reporting on different events.
We hope to build a studio within our current building and transform it into a news station for children. But we can’t do it without the support of other people like us who believe in the power and value of a child’s voice and the insurmountable possibilities of that voice’s range when given the proper guidance and allowed enough room to grow.
